Student & Children’s Privacy Notice
This notice explains the privacy model for educator-directed classroom participation in PsySims. It supplements the main Privacy Policy.
Educator-directed classroom use
PsySims classroom features are designed to be set up and managed by educators. Students participate through Student Portal credentials or educator-led session access rather than by creating personal PsySims accounts.
Information educators may enter
Use only the information needed to identify students in your classroom. We recommend using a first name, initials, or a classroom identifier instead of a full legal name. Please follow your school’s privacy and student data policies. Classroom records may include a class name, a minimal student identifier chosen by the educator, assigned lessons or activities, participation data, submitted responses, and results needed to provide the classroom feature.
Information students should not be asked to provide
PsySims does not require students to provide a personal email address, personal social-login account, payment information, or a personal PsySims password for ordinary classroom participation. Educators should avoid entering sensitive or unnecessary personal information unless they have a clear educational and legal basis to do so.
How student information is used
Student classroom information is used to provide the class or session, maintain Student Portal continuity, deliver assigned resources, show educator-facing progress or results where supported, secure classroom access, and troubleshoot the service. It is not used as an ordinary Teacher account identity.
Student Portal separation
Student Portal uses Class Code and Student Code credentials and remains separate from Guest, Free, Premium, Admin, and staff account sessions. Student credentials must not be treated as Teacher credentials or used to expose unrelated classroom data.
Service providers
Student classroom information may be processed by the same infrastructure providers used to operate PsySims, including Vercel for application hosting, Supabase for database and authorization-backed application data, and Cloudflare/R2 for authorized file storage and delivery.
Retention and deletion
Student classroom data is associated with educator-managed classes and account-owned records. When a Teacher account is permanently deleted, account-owned classroom data is removed according to PsySims retention rules, except for narrowly retained integrity or legal records such as permanently retired Class Code values that prevent code reuse.
Educator and school responsibilities
Educators and schools remain responsible for deciding whether PsySims is appropriate for their students, obtaining any permissions or approvals required by their policies or applicable law, and limiting the information they enter to what is necessary for the classroom purpose.
Questions or privacy requests
A parent, guardian, educator, school, or other authorized person with a question about student information can contact PsySims through the Contact page. PsySims may need to verify the requester’s authority and identify the relevant educator or class before acting on a classroom-data request.
