PSYSIMS · LEGAL & POLICIES
Terms of Use
These Terms govern use of the PsySims educational platform and work together with the policies listed on the Legal & Policies page.
Using PsySims
PsySims provides educational lessons, activities, simulations, classroom participation tools, and related resources. PsySims accounts are for adults using the platform for educational purposes. By using PsySims, you agree to use the service lawfully and in accordance with these Terms and the policies linked from the Legal & Policies page.
Accounts and account security
Teacher and staff accounts are personal to the account holder. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in methods secure and for activity performed through your account. Do not share staff credentials, attempt to bypass access controls, or use another person’s account without authorization.
Classroom and student use
Student classroom participation does not require a personal PsySims account. Use only the information needed to identify students in your classroom. We recommend using a first name, initials, or a classroom identifier instead of a full legal name. Please follow your school’s privacy and student data policies. Educators are responsible for deciding whether PsySims is appropriate for their learners and for following their school, district, and other applicable student-data requirements.
Free, Premium, and public access
Some published resources may be available to everyone, some may require a signed-in Free or Premium Teacher account, and some are reserved for Premium access. Access levels, feature limits, and available content may change as the service develops.
Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Paid checkout and billing apply only when those features are enabled. Monthly and yearly subscriptions may be canceled at any time to stop the next automatic renewal. Premium access continues through the last day of the billing period already paid for. No prorated refund is issued simply because a subscription is canceled before that paid period ends. Refunds or other remedies remain available where required by applicable law or where PsySims separately agrees to provide one.
Your content and PsySims content
You remain responsible for material you submit or link through PsySims and must have the rights needed to use it. By submitting material, you instruct PsySims to store, process, and display it only as needed to operate, secure, and support the service. PsySims branding, original site content, and platform materials remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party resources remain subject to their owners’ terms and rights.
Acceptable use
You must not use PsySims to break the law, harm or harass others, upload malicious or infringing material, interfere with service operation, probe or bypass security controls, misuse Student Portal credentials, or access data you are not authorized to access. Additional examples are listed in the Acceptable Use Policy.
Third-party services
PsySims relies on service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, and other platform functions. Optional sign-in, payment, or email providers may also process information when those features are enabled. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices in addition to PsySims policies.
Account deletion and service access
When account deletion is requested, normal Teacher access is paused immediately and the account is scheduled for deletion. During the 30-day recovery period, the deletion request can be canceled and the account restored to normal. After the recovery deadline, the account is permanently deleted by the daily lifecycle job, except for records that must be retained under a separate legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or Class Code non-reuse policy. PsySims may also restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, students, the platform, or the integrity of the service, subject to applicable law.
Educational purpose
PsySims is an educational platform. Content is provided to support teaching and learning and is not a substitute for medical, mental-health, legal, or other professional advice. Educators remain responsible for classroom decisions and how resources are used.
Changes and contact
PsySims may update features or these Terms as the service changes. Material policy changes should be reflected on the applicable policy page with an updated date. Questions about these Terms can be sent through the PsySims Contact page.
